You've changed.

You used to be my perfect cup of tea. Now you're black coffee.

You've changed.

You used to be a peach. Now I'm making lemonade.

You've changed.

Recorded live in New Orleans with Jesse Maclaine, Johnny Vidacovich & Andrew Wolf, this CD is a fusion of styles including rock, jazz, folk, pop & classical music. It tells the story of an Amazon Woman struggling to adjust to modern life in America.
NOTES
"Partially Domesticated Amazon" is a concept album about the observations, musings and struggles of a woman who feels out of place both in her personal life and in her culture. Newly emigrated from the remote, idyllic setting of her Amazonian home, the partially domesticated Amazon finds adjusting to the modern world deeply challenging. She uses music as therapy and as a way to document and make sense of the chaos of life. She is both …

Lyrics

December snow, won't be melted by December sun
I'm so thankful how you keep me warm.
Rivers of yesterday's loves gone bring my eyes an ocean, an ocean.

Here comes the sun, shy December Soleil
I'll dance a second line like it's Mardi Gras today.
I think of you, thank you, you've been great.
Please don't, don't buy me anything,

Unless you have a way to buy peace or cure some disease;
Make Time to rebuild New Orleans.
I still believe, inside each of us, untapped infinite possibility.

Here comes the sun, bright January Soleil
I could dance a second line with you on Chartres Street baby
I think of you, thank you, you've been great
Please don't, don't worry about anything

Forget how bad everything can seem.
See yourself in a better reality.
You could make it real, you could feel
feel better.

Raphael she's less afraid.
She likes to make a funny face
& dance her cares away every single day.
She says make your wishes bravely,
spread your hope, your love like Gravy!
Like winged siblings we will play
in the bright Febrauary sun,
I think it's Mardi Gras today.
I'm gonna dance a second line where ever I am baby!
I think of you, thank you, yes, you've been great.
Please don't worry about anything.

Please don't worry about anything.

NOTES
This second release from Aural Elixir shows their development as songwriters and musicians. True to their eclectic... More > beginnings, "Anomaly" holds gems from many genres including jazz, soul, funk, folk, pop & comedy. The first track is a unique experiment in time, the #2 Song is an instant classic (everybody poops indeed!) and the third song compels the listener to dance along.
The fascinating thing about this album is that each song really tells it's own story. …

This is Aural Elixir's first release, recorded at the historic RCA Studio B, Nashville in 1999. Possibly a result of an existential crisis, this CD is a collection of experimental pop, rock, folk, funk, country, blues and roots music. Thanks Frank Zappa!
NOTES
Aural Elixir is a lyrical, multi-genre concept born from the rich musical textures of New Orleans. Aural Elixir was created in 1997 by Jesse, an eclectic songstress whose style is somewhat reminiscent of Tori Amos, Joni Mitchell, Frank Zappa, and Thelonious Monk, yet she deftly keeps Aural Elixir evolving and boundless. *These artistic auteurs paint musical pictures both delightfully impressionistic and happily expressionistic* Bunny Matthews, New Orleans Offbeat Magazine
